Pemberton to Barnegat. Farmland to shoreline cutting through Pine Barrens where cranberries grow in the bogs and blueberries in the acidic soil. The Jersey Shore -the summer playground for many: -
From Pemberton to oceanside
This road cuts through the Garden State
Where pines and ponds combined provide
The berries which our hungers slake
For just beyond horizon’s line
Pine trees stand in sun aglow
And in their dappled shade entwined
Cran and blueberry fruits do grow
And further East at ocean’s edge
The famous Jersey Shore unfolds
Where sea and sun and sand do pledge
No Summer pleasures to withhold
The beaches and the boardwalks there
Attract the tourists Summer long
And in the warm and salt laced air
They celebrate the Siren’s song
This attracts all the senses. Lovely.
